Prevent SBS British Columbia is proud to be a program of BC Children’s Hospital.

The prevention of shaken baby syndrome will never be achieved in isolation. Partnering is an effective and necessary component to any successful program. The Prevent SBS British Columbia has partnerships with the following respected organizations.

BC Ministry of Children and Family Development
Co-sponsor for the 2005 and 2006 B.C. Symposiums on Shaken Baby Syndrome. Also primary financial support for the randomized-controlled trial of the Period of PURPLE Crying program.
University of British Columbia, Developmental Neurosciences and Child Health
Partnering in the randomized-controlled trial of the Period of PURPLE Crying program.
BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit
Organizing partner for the B.C. Surveillance System for Inflicted Childhood Neurotrauma.
BC Perinatal Health Program
The BC Perinatal Health program co-sponsored an Interprofessional Workshop Series through Child Health BC which provided gap identification and stratagies for our provincial implementation plan.
Child Health BC
Child Health BC sponsored an Interprofessional Workshop Series on January 11 and 12, 2008. The purpose of the workshop was to identify gaps and strategies in the plan to implement the Period of PURPLE Crying throughout BC. More than 50 health care professionals throughout the province took part in this successful event.

Hospital: BC Women's.
Vancouver Coastal Health Authority

Human Early Learning Partnership (H.E.L.P.)
The Human Early Learning Partnership has contributed to the randomized-controlled trial of PURPLE.
Child and Family Research Institute
The Child and Family Research Institute has partnered with our program by earmarking funds for the research of PURPLE educational materials.
BC Coroners Office
The BC Coroners Office has provided research opportunities for the B.C. Surveillance System of Inflicted Childhood Neurotrauma.
